Hillary Clinton was targeted by protesters who threw tomatoes and their own shoes at her motorcade during a visit to Egypt on Sunday.

Demonstrators also mockingly chanted 'Monica, Monica' in reference to Bill Clinton's extra-marital affair.

The Secretary of State was on her first trip to Egypt since the election of the country's new Islamist President, Mohammed Morsi.

During the protests in Alexandria, a tomato struck an Egyptian official in the face, and shoes and a water bottle landed near the armoured cars carrying Mrs Clinton's aides.

A senior State Department official said that neither Mrs Clinton nor her vehicle, which were around the corner from the incident, were struck by any of the projectiles.

As well as the shouts of 'Monica', some demonstrators chanted, 'Leave, Clinton.'

The assault on her motorcade came on the day Mrs Clinton spoke at the newly re-opened U.S. consulate in Alexandria, addressing accusations that the U.S., which had long supported former president Hosni Mubarak, was meddling in Egyptian politics.

'I want to be clear that the United States is not in the business, in Egypt, of choosing winners and losers, even if we could, which of course we cannot,' Mrs Clinton said...

Cairo (CNN) -- Egypt's highest court declared the parliament invalid Thursday, and the country's interim military rulers promptly declared full legislative authority, triggering a new level of chaos and confusion in the country's leadership.

The Supreme Constitutional Court found that all articles making up the law that regulated parliamentary elections are invalid, said Showee Elsayed, a constitutional lawyer.

The ruling means that parliament must be dissolved, state TV reported.

Parliament has been in session for just over four months. It is dominated by Islamists, a group long viewed with suspicion by the military.

The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, in control of the country since Mubarak's ouster, said that it now has full legislative power and will announce a 100-person assembly that will write the country's new constitution by Friday.

The Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest Islamist party, said SCAF leaders were taking matters into their own hands "against any true democracy they spoke of."

The court also ruled that former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik. the last prime minister to serve under ousted President Hosni Mubarak, may run in a presidential election runoff this weekend...

“Friends of Syria”: Not Friends of the Syrian People

On 01 April 2012, the so-called “Friends of Syria” met in Istanbul to plan their agenda of fomenting civil war in Syria to destroy the country and oust the Syrian Government, using “human rights” as a pretext. They have agreed to provide finance and arms to outlawed groups attacking the Syrian state and the people of Syrian.

For a start, the anti-government violence in Syria has nothing to do with a popular civilian uprising. It is a Western-sponsored armed insurrection that is condemned and rejected by the overwhelming majority of the Syrian population. Even Syrian civilians who opposed the current Government have rejected the armed insurrection. The U.S. and its allies (vassals) will never support an anti-imperialist popular uprising.

From the outset, the armed insurrection has been instigated and financed by the U.S. and its allies, not only to destroy the country (Iraq and Libya are good examples) but also to oust the legitimate Syrian Government and replace it with a U.S.-controlled despotic regime. Syria is a sovereign nation and has the right to take a sovereign decision to defend the Syrian nation from foreign-sponsored armed insurrection.

According to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Manar (05 March 2012), the armed insurrection is led by a collection of Western-sponsored criminals, C.I.A. assets, Israeli terrorists, blackwater mercenaries and bribed army deserters. In short, they are C.I.A.-Mossad led paramilitary militias (a.k.a. terrorists). They are well armed and well paid by foreign powers. The U.S., Israel, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are providing arms and cash. France and Britain are actively providing military training and advice. The terrorists are committing heinous crimes against the Syrian population, including torture, rape, and mass executions of young men.

The terrorists have been instructed by their Western handlers to engage in violence and acts of terrorism against the population to tarnish the image of the Syrian Government. They have rejected peaceful negotiations and are demanding U.S./NATO military intervention based on the Libyan model to oust the legitimate Syrian Government. To enhance their image, the terrorists have been glorified by Western media and promoted as the “Free Syrian Army”, the “Syrian National Council” and “Opposition activists”. They have powerful “friends” that no other anti-government protesters have.

The major players of the “Friends of Syria” are: the U.S., Britain, France, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain and other U.S. vassals. Almost all of them are repressive states and violators of human rights. Many of these states are tyrannical dictators. The U.S., Israel, Britain and France (under Nicolas Sarkozy) are police states that espoused a fascist ideology under a veneer of fake democracy. The U.S. and its allies have supported and continue to support the most repressive and murderous regimes on the planet. The U.S., Britain, Israel, France and Turkey are vicious enemies of the Arab people. In fact, the prevalent attitudes of U.S.-NATO states toward the Arabs (and Muslims in general) are reminiscent of the Nazis’ attitudes toward Russians, Roma people, and Jews.

In addition to powerful friends, the terrorists can count on the support of the leading capitalist media. The main Zionist propaganda organs, the BBC, New York Times and Al-Jazeera have formed a second front in the war against Syria. Specialised in distortion of facts and fabrication of false stories, the media are guilty of war crimes. And with dishonest journalists and pundits, such as Robert Fisk, Andrew Cockburn and Gilbert Achcar, the people of Syria are facing a criminal conspiracy.

It is important to remember that, “Friends of Syria” are the same friends who colluded with George Bush to invade and destroy Iraq. The barbaric invasion and murderous Occupation caused the death of more than 1.5 million innocent Iraqi men, women and children...

The United States said Thursday it would grant $100 million to Tunisia to pay its debts, hoping to let the government focus on the economy and show a success in the birthplace of the Arab Spring.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Tunisia will be given 

$100 million by the United States to help pay off its debts. (Reuters) 

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the United States was also negotiating a separate package in which Washington would offer loan guarantees to raise hundreds of millions of dollars in capital for Tunisia.

Clinton, who spoke by telephone Wednesday with Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, said the aid would let Tunisia pare down debts to the World Bank and African Development Bank left over from dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali’s 23-year regime.

The $100 million U.S. cash transfer will allow Tunisia “to instead use this money for its priority programs, accelerating economic growth and job creation,” Clinton said in a statement...

Editor’s Note: Egypt’s military government figured out months ago that the Arab Spring was engineered by pro-democracy groups and NGO’s with direct links to the US State Department, and moved quickly to shut down their operations inside Egypt. After angry U.S. officials threatened to cut off $1.3 billion in military aid and $250 million in economic aid, Egypt finally backed down. But this event is significant, in that many overseas governments have become wise to the regime change/revolution business which globalists have been exporting for decades under the guise of seemingly innocent not-for-profit orgs. The veil has been completely lifted on this Soros-funded international program of deception.

CAIRO — Egypt on Wednesday lifted a travel ban on seven Americans employed by pro-democracy U.S. groups has been lifted, signaling an end to the worst crisis in relations between Egypt and the U.S. in 30 years.

The seven, who include the son of U.S. Transportation secretary Ray LaHood, are among 16 Americans who are on trial along with 27 others on charges of using illegally obtained funds to foment unrest in Egypt and incite protests against the nation’s military rulers.

The trial opened on Sunday and adjourned until April 26, but the court’s three judges resigned from the case on Tuesday, citing “uneasiness.” None of the 16 Americans were in court on Sunday. Only the seven affected by the travel ban are still in Egypt.

Egyptian officials said the travel ban was lifted by the country’s top prosecutor at the recommendation of the case’s investigating judge. It was not immediately clear whether the charges against the Americans would be dropped.
