The ever deepening hidden facets to my prodigious 'la familia'

agapegeek.com
Its just a surprising astonishment that where I consider family being the single most thing that`s supposed to bring warmth to the heart and soul is however in reality one of the most destructive elements a person can be exposed to, that causes you to rot from within. The persistent denial, anger, persecution, back-biting and constant disrespect takes its toll on a person when the whole family wages war on them together. There is no escape, no respite despite keeping up appearances when in reality it is utter futile.

The greatest thing now is the amount of disrespect exacted by everyone upon myself. Respect all throughout history was a thing not attainable but commanded or ordained. From the greatest kings to empires, respect existed in all forms as a guide to society. From the older generations to our parents, respect runs high in esteem. American culture at the core as well values respect. But it is the new immigrant class of people coming to this country that trashes the name of respect. To them, respect is people who have the latest iphones, apple computers, mercedes & bmw cars, flashy and dodgy clothes, squabbling who has more wealth or high-paying jobs, having personalities un-becoming of a gentleman from behavior, to mannerisms and hairstyles not commonly seen or accepted by society in general. To them, the pleasures of this world are respect to them. How vain they must be and think that they don`t see the past lessons of history people have endured.

Now, throughout history we are told of 'family' by the greats like Desmond Tutu who said "You don`t choose your family. They are God`s gift to you, as you are to them" or like a Spanish proverb that states that 'an ounce of blood is worth more than a pound of friendship.' However, these statement only make sense to the few utopian families in existence but not all. I can attest to that personally. What good are they to you when they are of in ignorance bliss.

Sooner or later, the burden will eventually break my will which to this day has been shaky at best considering the life events I`m experiencing at this point. Down the road, only time will tell how the story will unfold. The greats in my family have all long passed away, not having to endure the grueling petulance of life currently in our society. Looking back from afar, it is a great shame what society has become. No one learns the lessons of history, for the mighty empires who stood high and fell. For the mighty advancements we contemplate and currently have, there is no respite from the fact we are more at war with our fellow man and sunk into the pleasures of this world as nothing is beyond it.

It surely is a shame, I as the only person share this view and truly see the light at the end of tunnel and can`t relay my message to my family members. I feel more alone and isolated now than anytime in my life. No one can understand that life right now is just mere smoke and mirrors and play has played into it. It surely is tough being unique and loyal to my core values and beliefs as I will never abandon under any threat until my last dying breath. As is in our religion, as commanded by God to the Prophets to their people - to just deliver the message to the people and ultimately it is up the people and God himself to give them the guidance unto the right path.

'Be in the world, but not of it.' For in the end, you are eternally alone before you are born and eternally alone when you die and meet your Creator...

The worldly pleasures have diverted you, until you visit the grave; heavy verses from Allah to show us the truth [Sura Takathur]

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you. Until you visit the graveyards. No! You are going to know. Then no! You are going to know. No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...You will surely see the Hellfire. Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.

Don`t forget the Akhirah, the Hereafter

Posted by: Sikm4n | Islamic Channel

- [ Pearls Of Wisdom ] -

" Plan Your Akhirah Carefully You Are Going To Spend Your Life There, This Is Temporary So Treat It Justly "

Subhanallah, remember my Imaam saying, when we buy houses, or move into our new homes for the 1st time, we decorate it with soooo much junk, new sofa, sofa being bigger than the actual room! 3D TV's costing over 1k, decorating the house as if, "we are going to live here forever", and we all know this is not possible however much we like the house we live in, our (temp) HOME is the grave. He remiinded us that why we dont "decorate" our graves like this? Make it a place of bliss and comfort, decorate it with whatever you wish coz [sic] you will spend your life there (not in the grave but for some time you will) then inshaa'Allah decorate your jannah with Many Palaces and Many Trees. (Palaces made out of Gold, Silver, Diamonds and Rubies, Trees soo big that if you travel for 100years on a hourse you still will be under the shade of the same tree! SUBHANALLAH!)

We should all take into account this naseeha as we all love decorating our homes, but why not decorate our akhirah also?

Plant a tree each time you say Subhanallah, or Get a palace for praying all the 12 Sunnah rakah's in one day :)

Its that Simple! Subhanallah!

May Allah Give us the tawfeeek to focus on our akhirah than this temp dunya! Ameen !

The Promised Day (Day of Qiyamah) - Abdullah Mubarak

image: martyrobertsblog

From: Judgment Day - The Promised Day (Abdullah Mubarak):

For how long...for how long are we going to be heedless of the signs of Allah? For how long are we going to be busy with the dunya (world), busy making money, chasing our fruitful dreams, following our desires? We know my brothers and sisters, that death is a reality, you can`t run away from death, even if you were in a fortress with walls built up high death is going to come and find you.

Imagine your time is today, what have you got to take back to Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎ (subha wa ta`ala)? Have you repented for your sins? For this temporary life we have given up eternal bliss and eternal happiness, a life which never ends. My dear brothers and sisters, even if the hereafter was soil & mud and this dunya was gold & silver, - still the hereafter would be better than this dunya, because it is eternal! But reality is, this dunya is soil & mud and the hereafter is gold & silver and yet...we choose this life over the next. Are we asleep? Why are we walking around like headless chicken?

We will be brought to account when on that day, when everyone is a stranger to another, when your own best friend in this dunya will be a stranger to you in the next, when your own mother is going to abandon you just to save herself.

The day, when every small action that you ever did you will be shown - every atom weight of good and every atom weight of evil. My dear brothers and sisters, this is the promised day of Allah سبحانه و تعالى, doesn`t your heart tremble with fear knowing that you will be brought to account? And how you will die thats how you will be raised.

That day when a child`s hair will turn grey due to the shock and fear, what will be your excuse on that day? When your limbs, your own legs are going to give witness against you; when your lips are going to be sealed and your legs are going to speak and say, 'Ya Allah!, he made me walk to this haram.' And your own hands are going to say, 'Ya Allah!, he used me to touch this haram.' On that my dear brothers and sisters, there is no refuge except with Allah سبحانه و تعالى.

There is no escape, so take heed before your time is up. Ask Allah to make us among the Saabikun, a group of people who race each other to good deeds and these people will be closest to Allah سبحانه و تعالىin the next life.

Knowledge of everlasting benefit...useless earthly treasure

Posted by:

Islamic Reflections (Facebook page)

Useless Treasure

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Knowledge from which no benefit is derived is like a treasure out of which nothing is spent in the cause of Allah." [Tirmidhi]

One reason that a miser is considered a fool is that he or she does not benefit from what they crave yet possess. Similarly, a person who has been given a lot of wealth but does not purchase Paradise with it is also a fool. Whatever comfort you can buy in the world with your wealth, will nevertheless be taken away from you at your death. If instead, you use your wealth to purchase Jannah, you will have bought the best of luxuries that will never be taken away from you.

By the same token, knowledge of Islam is a treasure that can be utilized to purchase Jannah by bringing one’s feelings and actions in line with what one has learnt. Only then is the knowledge of lasting benefit to the person. A person who is not able to earn Jannah from his/her knowledge of Islam is but a loser. His/her case is comparable to that of the person who has treasure but does not use it to purchase Jannah.

Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) is Rehmat-ul-lil-Alameen (mercy for all the worlds) because he showed us how to convert the brief pleasure that life on earth can offer, into everlasting pleasure.

'So why do we hate or dislike death?' as asked by Caliph Sulayman ibn 'Abd al-Malik

[Exerpt from Anwar al-Awlaki, Why do we hate death?]

So one day Caliph Sulayman ibn 'Abd al-Malik (سليمان بن عبد الملك) was accompanying a scholar from a Tabi`in, and asked him a question, he said,

‘How come we hate death?’ Why, why do we dislike death?’

So the scholar responded and said,

“O Amir ul mu`mineen (Commander of the Believers or Commander of the Faithful),
you have constructed this world, this present world and you have destroyed
your akhirah (hereafter). So you would not want to think about leaving from what
is constructed to what is destroyed.”

He is saying that, all you have done is prepare for yourself a good life in this world but haven’t done much for akhirah, you built for yourself a palace here but you didn’t build a palace there. You made an easy lifestyle for yourself here but didn`t make sure you would have a similar one in akhirah. That’s why you don`t like death. But for someone who is investing all of their money and their efforts and time in building for themselves a better life in akhirah for these they would love to go from this world to the akhirah.

This worldly life is like an unchaste woman...

Islamic Network
by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

This worldly life is like an unchaste woman, who is not satisfied with one husband. So! be satisfied with whatever Allah grants you from this worldy life. Walking thereon is like walking in a land that is filled with beasts, and water that teams with crocodiles. That which causes delight, turns to be the source of grief. Pain is found in the midst of pleasures, and delights are derived from its sorrows. As a bird sees the wheat, so does one’s insight perceive polytheism, while vain desires render its holder blind. Lusts were granted in abundance to humans, but those who believed in the unseen turned away from them! while those who follow their lusts were caused to regret. The first category, are those, in which Allah says, which means,

They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful. (AI-
       Baqarah, 2:5)

However, the other category, are those to whom Allah says which means,

(0 you disbelievers)! Eat and enjoy yourselves (in this worldly life) for a little while.
Verily, you are the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) (AI-
       Mursalat,77:46)

When the successful ones are aware of the reality of this worldly life being sure of the inferiority of its degree, they overcame their vain desires for the sake of the Hereafter. They have been awakened from their heedlessness to remember what their enemies took from them during their period of idleness. Whenever they perceive the distant journey they must undertake, they remember their aim, so it appears easy for them. Whenever life becomes bitter, they remember this verse, in which Allah says, which means,

“This is your Day which you were promised”. (AI Anbiya’, 21:103)

The Life of this World...this dunya

The Life of this World
by Abu 'Abdir-Rahman Mohammad Navaid Aziz
SunnahOnline.com

Alhamdulillâhi rabbil-'âlamîn was salâtu was salâmu 'ala ashrifil anbiyâ wal-mursalîn nabîyina Muhammad wa 'ala âlihi wa sahbihî ajma'în

Amma ba'ad:

Truly, we were granted this life to be tested which of us would remain steadfast in the dhikr (remembrance) and shukr (gratitude) of Allah, the Sublime. Living in a landmine where every step you take can lead to your possible destruction, and not destruction of the body but rather of the soul, we see people being annihilated every single day.

This world is one big attraction, making those who in reality are meagre and full of weakness look strong and mighty, making those who are ignorant seem intelligent, and portraying those who have been misguided and enslaved to their own desires as being the most guided of people.

Know, that no one lives in this dunya (world) except that he will be eaten by it in its entirety or will leave bruised and scarred except for those whom Allah, the Most High, has mercy upon. Hasan al-Basree, may Allah have mercy upon him, had some wise words concerning the dunya when he said:

"So beware of this land (the dunya) that is falling down and is misleading and
deceiving, being decorated by its deceit and having eluded (others) by its delusion,
and having killed its people with its hopes. It looks forward with anticipation
towards the one who proposes to it for marriage. Hence it becomes like the
unveiled bride - all the eyes are looking towards it, and the souls are in love with it,
and the hearts are captivated by it." [Related by Abu Nu'aym in al-Hilyah (2/135-136)]

Indeed he was true in his words, as we are all guilty of the crime of being deceived by the dunya with its beauty and glamour. Some of us were fortunate to get out, praise be to Allah, while others have wandered off into the everlasting dark tunnel that had no light at its beginning and has no light at its end, and the only thing that will allow him to leave is death itself. Refuge is sought with Allah, the Most High, from such an evil ending.

And know for a fact that no matter how much good you may see in this dunya, in reality it is just a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing. Had there been any good in it, then Allah, the Beneficent, would have made it a place of reward, and place of dissension of His mercy but rather Allah only sent one of His mercies upon the earth through which we are kind to one another, and rather He has made it a place of trial and tribulation and a true prison for the believer. Likewise, had there been good in it we would have seen the Prophet, peace be upon him, being attached to it and living in its luxuries but rather he sacrificed it all with full certainty in that which will come after is better and everlasting. Thus, he said:

"The dunya is cursed. Cursed is all that is in it except for the remembrance of Allah,
and that which resembles it, a scholar, and a student (of knowledge)." [Related by
Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah, and Bayhaqi. The wording is taken from Shaykh al-Albaanee's
       Sahîh at-Targhîb wat-Tarhîb (1/34)]

So do we need anymore proof that this dunya is an endless pit for the one who is not careful and falls into it?

One of the most beautiful words ever uttered were at the end of a sîrah lecture (a lecture of the Prophet's life) where the speaker said referring to the Prophet, peace be upon him:

"He had the world at his feet, yet not a dinâr to his name."

Indeed that’s what true zuhd (asceticism) and taqwâ (piety) is, having the dunya bestowed upon you from every angle imaginable and sacrificing it for the noble face of your Creator and Sustainer. Truly a noble attribute that most have lost, except those who have been encompassed by the Mercy of Allah. So let us abandon this dunya and its temporary beauty for the joys which will last for eternity. Let us be the children of the âkhirah (hereafter) and not of the dunya as 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said:

"Verily the dunya is coming to an end, and the âkhirah is coming to a beginning and
they both have children. So be children of the âkhirah and don’t be children of the
dunya. For verily today there is action with no account and tomorrow there’s
account with no action." [Related by Ibn al-Qayyim in ad-Dâ' wad-Dawâ Fasl 15]

So let us wear the garments of imân (faith) and taqwâ (piety) as they are the only true garments the cover the 'awrah, and are the only protection from the tribulations of the dunya. Like Allah, the Most High, said:

"And take provision, verily the best of provisions is at-taqwâ." [Al-Qur'ân 2:197]

And as He says:

"Verily for the muttaqîn (people of taqwâ) is success (i.e. Paradise)." [Al-Qur'ân
       78:31]

And as He says:

"Indeed successful are the believers." [Al-Qur'ân 23:1]

And as He, the Most High, says:

"Verily those who believe and do righteous deeds will have the gardens of
al-firdaus (the loftiest form of paradise)." [Al-Qur'ân 18:107]

May Allah make us of these people - Âmîn.

Lastly, before I end off, I leave you with the words of the Prophet, peace be upon him:

"Every man starts his day being a vendor of his soul, either freeing it or bringing
        about its ruin."

He who enslaves his soul to Allah has indeed liberated it and he who enslaves his soul to his whims and desires then let him prepare for a marriage to captivity till death do you part. Proving this point is the statement of the 'Allâmah of raqâ'iq (heart softening traditions) Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him:

"Verily the life of man is in the life of his heart and his soul. And there is no life in
the heart except by knowing its creator, having love for him, worshipping him
solely, turning to him in times of need, and seeking tranquillity with His
remembrance. And he who loses this life has lost all good. Even if he attempts to
substitute (this loss) with all that is in the world. For verily not even all of the world
together would be able to replace this life. And verily for everything that a slave
loses there is a substitute, but the one who loses Allah will never find anything to
replace Him." [Related by Ibn al-Qayyim in ad-Dâ' wad-Dawâ Fasl 49]

So take these two sayings, read them, understand them, and implement them to the best of your ability, and know, without a doubt, that Allah is the one who grants success.

- The statement of Fudayl bin 'Iyyaad: "Man's fear of Allah is equal to his knowledge of Him and his renunciation of worldly pleasures is equal to his desire in the Hereafter."

- Secondly, the advice of Sufyan ath-Thawree: "Work for the sake of this life within the extent of your stay in it, and for the Hereafter within the extent of your stay therein."

[Both quotes are related in Abdul-Malik al-Qaasim's Life is a Fading Shadow, (Dar-us-Salam)]

And Allah knows best.

May Allah make us of those people who benefit from admonition and of those who when they are given are thankful, when tested are patient, and when sin are repenting (as these are the keys to success in this dunya and the âkhirah) - Âmîn.

The hidden facets to my 'prodigious la familia'

agapegeek.com

Allah the Almighty tells mankind: “Know that the life of this world [dunya] is but amusement, vain talk, adornment, pompous boasting to one another and competition in the increase of wealth and children—like the example of rain (Ghayth) whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the farmers then it dries up and you see it turning yellow, then it becomes scattered debris; But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment, and (there is) forgiveness from Allah and (His) pleasure; And what is this life except the enjoyment of delusion” -(Noble Qur`an, Sura Al-Hadeed, 57:20).

Prophet Muhammad  (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Be in this life like a stranger or a traveler.” This saying reminds believers that our stay is temporary in this dunya (world) and that we should thus live like travelers, taking only those (good deeds) we need to get to our desired destination—Paradise. Mankind can easily get caught up and lost in this dunya (world) and forget that there is a much bigger reason behind this life. In this sense, the world that we live in is like the Matrix and Islam exposes us to the reality. -(The WakeUp Project)

Do not compete over this fleeting dunya (world)

Excerpts from 'Finding Peace in this World' by Anwar Al-Awlaki:

Ata ibn Rabah (عطاء بن أبي رباح‎) has said, one of the benefits of remembering death is not competing over this dunya (world). ['You will not fight or compete with people of this world over this world']. And that which causes you to have tranquility in your heart, because what makes people anxious and obnoxious is competing over material things. Because this world is small and our desires are large, nothing can satisfy this desire of human beings.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, 'if the son of Adam had a valley of gold, he would request another one and nothing would please the son of Adam, nothing would shut him up except dirt. Nothing would satisfy this greed except the dirt.' When you go back to the dirt that would close and terminate all of your desires.

Look at the wars now around the globe, what are they fighting for? Its over money, wealth and this dunya. Its over oil, land and natural resources, that is why wars happen. All this is happening for the sake of this dunya, all for what? Just diverting our attention away from the truth. These wars are masked, there is an underlying motive. If humans beings, were to think about death they would be pleased with what Allah the Almighty has given them and they would not complete over this world.

As Al Hasan Al Basri has said: “A sign that Allah has turned away from a servant is that He makes him busy with matters that are of no concern to him.” - isn`t this the case today?

Death - The Ultimate Destroyer of Pleasure

When a person dies the angels says, "What has he sent in advance?"...But human beings say, "What has he left behind?" - Abu Huraira, MM 5219, BQ

Do not wish for death. For if you are a good person you could do more good deeds, and if you are an evil-doer you could repent and gain Allah`s favor.
- SB 1.104, Sa`d bin Ubayd

Say: "Death, from which you are fleeing, will certainly catch up with you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the Unseen and the Visible and He will inform you about what you did." (Surat al-Jumu'a: 8)

A'isha (r) said that Rasulullah (peace be upon him) said : "The deeds most loved by Allah swt (are those) done regularly, even if they are small". ( Bukhari, Muslim )

A very amazing lecture by Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki on DEATH a.k.a الموت:

On the Day when punishment shall cover them from above them (and) below them, (a Voice) will say: "You taste (the fruits) of your actions!" O My servants who believe! Truly My Earth has lot of space (and room): Therefore you serve Me - (and none else)! Every soul shall have a taste of death: In the end, you shall be brought back to Us. -[Sura Al-Ankabut, 29:55-57]
