Hugo Chavez, leader of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, dies at 58

"...Almost the only adversary it seemed he couldn't beat was cancer. He died Tuesday in Caracas at 4:25 local time after his prolonged illness. He was 58..." - AP News

"An emotional VP Nicolas Maduro made the announcement on Tuesday evening, flanked by leading Venezuelan political and military leaders."

The legacy of Hugo Chavez:

Hugo Chavez: The War On Democracy (2007), by John Pilger

'The War On Democracy' (2007) was John Pilger's first for cinema. It explores the current and past relationship of Washington with Latin American countries such as Venezuela, Bolivia and Chile.

Using archive footage sourced by Michael Moore's archivist Carl Deal, the film shows how serial US intervention, overt and covert, has toppled a series of legitimate governments in the Latin American region since the 1950s. The democratically elected Chilean government of Salvador Allende, for example, was ousted by a US backed coup in 1973 and replaced by the military dictatorship of General Pinochet. Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador have all been invaded by the United States.

John Pilger interviews several ex-CIA agents who took part in secret campaigns against democratic countries in the region. He investigates the School of the Americas in the US state of Georgia, where Pinochet’s torture squads were trained along with tyrants and death squad leaders in Haiti, El Salvador, Brazil and Argentina.

The film unearths the real story behind the attempted overthrow of Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez in 2002 and how the people of the barrios of Caracas rose up to force his return to power.

It also looks at the wider rise of populist governments across South America lead by indigenous leaders intent on loosening the shackles of Washington and a fairer redistribution of the continent's natural wealth.

John Pilger says: "[The film] is about the struggle of people to free themselves from a modern form of slavery". These people, he says, "describe a world not as American presidents like to see it as useful or expendable, they describe the power of courage and humanity among people with next to nothing. They reclaim noble words like democracy, freedom, liberation, justice, and in doing so they are defending the most basic human rights of all of us in a war being waged against all of us."

'The War On Democracy' was a Youngheart Entertainment, Granada and Michael Watt production. It was released in UK cinemas on 15 June 2007 and broadcast on ITV1, 20 August 2007. Directors: John Pilger and Chris Martin. Producers: Chris Martin and Wayne Young. Editor: Joe Frost. The film was made with the support of the humanitarian financier Michael Watt.

Awards: Best Documentary Award, 2008 One World Awards, London. The panel's citation read: "There are six criteria the judges are asked to use to select the winner of this award: the film's impact on public opinion, its appeal to a wide audience, its inclusion of voices from the developing world, its high journalistic or production standards, its success in conveying the impact of the actions of the world's rich on the lives of the poor and the extent to which it draws attention to possible solutions. One film met every one of these. It was the winner of the award: John Pilger's 'The War on Democracy'.

DemocracyNow.org - National Security Agency whistleblower William Binney reveals he believes domestic surveillance has become more expansive under President Obama than President George W. Bush. He estimates the NSA has assembled 20 trillion "transactions" — phone calls, emails and other forms of data — from Americans. This likely includes copies of almost all of the emails sent and received from most people living in the United States. Binney talks about Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act and challenges NSA Director Keith Alexander's assertion that the NSA is not intercepting information about U.S. citizens.

There you have it: Our country now answers to foreign globalists & interests and not the U.S. Constitution (Shocking news w/ video)

Hair raising comments made today by US Sec-Def Leon Panetta at a Armed Services Committee Senate hearing was not a normal hearing but a proclamation and declaration that put Congress on notice - basically telling them to stick it where the sun don`t shine that the U.S. gets it`s marching orders from the UN & NATO and not the U.S. Congress. He said their "goal would be to seek international permission" but keep Congress 'informed.' And of course

This is essentially codifying President Obama`s directive when he made clear last year when he proclaimed he did not need Congressional approval because he had'international permission' when engaging in Libyan hostilities. This is now the new Obama Doctrine, beholden to foreign interests and not the U.S. CONSTITUTION! What is happening to our country and values? There are eroding by the second and the masses seem to not care. The global war is coming and near, urge all to finally wake up and to accept the status quo and reality now, there is time for change as set forth in the principles in the founding of this glorious nation. Congress needs to grab their cajones and assert their constitutional powers against a ever looming foreign military dictatorship.

Pentagon Launches Desperate Damage Control Over Shocking Panetta Testimony
The United States has ceded control of its affairs to international bureaucrats

Paul Joseph Watson

Thursday, March 8, 2012

Alex Jones: “This represents absolute 100 per cent proof that the military industrial complex which runs the United States is under the control of foreign central banks who are imposing a military dictatorship.”

The Pentagon is engaging in damage control after shocking testimony yesterday by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta at a Senate Armed Services Committee congressional hearing during which it was confirmed that the U.S. government is now completely beholden to international power structures and that the legislative branch is a worthless relic.

During the hearing yesterday Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey brazenly admitted that their authority comes not from the U.S. Constitution, but that the United States is subservient to and takes its marching orders from the United Nations and NATO, international bodies over which the American people have no democratic influence.
Panetta was asked by Senator Jeff Sessions, “We spend our time worrying about the U.N., the Arab League, NATO and too little time, in my opinion, worrying about the elected representatives of the United States. As you go forward, will you consult with the United States Congress?”

The Defense Secretary responded “You know, our goal would be to seek international permission. And we would come to the Congress and inform you and determine how best to approach this, whether or not we would want to get permission from the Congress.”
Despite Sessions’ repeated efforts to get Panetta to acknowledge that the United States Congress is supreme to the likes of NATO and the UN, Panetta exalted the power of international bodies over the US legislative branch.

“I’m really baffled by the idea that somehow an international assembly provides a legal basis for the United States military to be deployed in combat,” Sessions said. “I don’t believe it’s close to being correct. They provide no legal authority. The only legal authority that’s required to deploy the United States military is of the Congress and the president and the law and the Constitution.”

Panetta’s assertion that he would seek “international permission” before ‘informing’ Congress about the actions of the US military provoked a firestorm of controversy, prompting the Pentagon to engage in damage control by claiming Panetta’s comments were misinterpreted.

“He was re-emphasizing the need for an international mandate. We are not ceding U.S. decision-making authority to some foreign body,” a defense official told CNN.

However, this is not the first time that the authority of international bodies has been framed as being superior to the US Congress and the Constitution.

In June last year, President Obama arrogantly expressed his hostility to the rule of law when he dismissed the need to get congressional authorization to commit the United States to a military intervention in Libya, churlishly dismissing criticism and remarking, “I don’t even have to get to the Constitutional question.”

Obama tried to legitimize his failure to obtain Congressional approval for military involvement by sending a letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner in which he said the military assault was “authorized by the United Nations (U.N.) Security Council.”

Panetta’s testimony that the US looks to obtain “international permission” before it acts, allied with Obama citing the UN as the supreme authority while trashing the power of Congress, prove that the United States has ceded control over its own affairs to unelected international bureaucrats, just as the countries of the European Union have done likewise.

While the world focuses on Syria and Iran, they turn a blind eye to Saudi Arabia

Saudi security forces attack, beat female protesters in Abha

Saudi security forces have reportedly attacked and beaten female students in the southwestern city of Abha, protesting against injustice and inequality.

Activists say female students of King Khalid University in Abha staged a protest gathering on Wednesday to express their anger about discrimination and mistreatment by security officials at the university.

They also denounced lack of facilities some of them very basic like chairs.

Meanwhile, Saudi human rights campaigner Mohammed Albajady is still on hunger strike to protest his detention of nearly one-year without trial. Activists say he refused to eat 16 days ago.

Saudi Arabia is facing growing unrest and people have been demanding justice and release of political prisoners since last year. Anti-government protest rallies are mostly held in the Kingdom's Eastern Province but despite a violent crackdown on demonstrations, it appears that the protests are now spreading across the country.

Saudis have held peaceful demonstrations in Eastern Province, mostly in Awamiyah and Qatif, since February last year on an almost regular basis, demanding reform, freedom of expression and the release of political prisoners.

Protesters also want an end to economic and religious discrimination against the oil-rich region. Several demonstrators have been killed and dozens of activists have been arrested since the beginning of protests in the region.

On February 23, protest rallies were held across the province to demand the prosecution of those who opened fire on demonstrators one week earlier. Saudi security forces broke up the rallies using force and arrested several demonstrators.

Riyadh has intensified its crackdown on protesters since the beginning of 2012.

Seems like the old monarchy of Libya may be rearing its ugly head again

Exiled Libyan monarchy shamelessly admit their role in fomenting Libyan war
Libya S.O.S
MAR 7, 2012

...

First a little history on the old monarchy of Libya:

The great-nephew of the Libyan king ousted by Muammar Qaddafi said(Sept 2011) his countrymen should be allowed to decide if they want the return of the monarchy, offering his family as a “servant of the Libyan people,” he told the Associated Press in an interview.

The prince was working, he said, to ensure that "the future of Libya will be bright, and when I say bright I mean a country with a constitution, with health care system, with freedom of speech and also justice."

Idris had complete control of the army and a good deal of influence over the parliament, which was mainly composed of powerful tribal leaders. In addition Libya, an arid, impoverished country with crop production limited to the narrow coastline, could not flourish without heavy "aid" from Western powers. In time, younger citizens, especially the military, grew tied of the king's conservative policies and extreme dependence on the West.

The Libyan monarchy of Idris, which was based in Benghazi, was installed by the United States and British in the 1950’s to oversee their economic and military interests in North Africa. Libya in 1951, under the leadership of King Idris, had amoung the lowest standards of Living in the world. The Idris monarchy was overthrown in a bloodless revolution led by Muammar al-Gaddafi in 1969. This led to the American Wheelus Air Base (The largest American base outside of US at that time) being dismantled and the American and British armed forces stationed in Libya evacuating. The western oil companies were then nationalized...

Lebanese security forces seize 'pro-democracy, regime change' cargo from U.S., Brazil

yeah its suspicious alright...

Lebanese security officials seize suspicious cargo from US, Brazil
Press TV
February 7, 2012

Lebanon’s security officials say a suspicious cargo containing huge amounts of US dollars, guns, special passports and credit cards have been seized upon arrival in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, from the US and Brazil.

The items, packed in a number of chests and delivered via airmail, were discovered at Beirut’s airport, the Lebanese security officials said.

The chests also contained a list of both well-known and ordinary Lebanese citizens including a figure related to Salafi extremist groups. The security officials have summoned a number of the individuals, whose names were on the list, arresting some of them.

Beirut has redoubled security surveillance across the country following remarks by some Lebanese factions as well as widespread rumors about the presence of al-Qaeda in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese defense minister earlier confirmed that members of the al-Qaeda terrorist group, fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, have entered Syria through Lebanon.

Over the past few months, reports have circulated that caches of weapons have been smuggled to armed gangs in Syria through the Lebanese border.

As soon as you`re born you`ve become a debt slave to the U.S.

Birth Certificate is a Certificate of Slavery
by: Autarchic, posted May 11, 2011
(image left courtesy of sodahead & Autarchic)

When a child is born, the hospital generally sends the original, not a copy, of this record of live birth to the State Bureau of Vital Statistics, sometimes called the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services (HRS). Each STATE is required to supply the corporate UNITED STATES with birth, death, and health statistics. The STATE agency that receives the original record of live birth keeps it and then issues another Birth Certificate in a different form where the name of the baby is spelled in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. This creates a ˜legal person" as opposed to a natural individual.

The Birth Certificate issued by the State is then registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce - - the Executive Office - specifically through their own sub-agency, the U.S. Census Bureau, which is responsible to register vital statistics from all the states. Thus, the birth certificate is registered in international commerce. The word registered, as it is used in commercial law, does not mean that the ALL CAPITAL version of the name was "merely" noted or recorded in a book for future reference purposes. When a birth certificate is registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Treasury will issue a bond on the value of the birth certification. That bond is then made available for purchase on a securities exchange and is bought by the Federal Reserve Bank. This purchase then become the authority or collateral to issue Federal Reserve Notes, which we use as a medium of exchange.

The value of the bond in today's world is $630,000. The bond is then held in trust for the Federal Reserve at the Depository Trust Corporation at 55 Water Street in New York City, about two blocks down the street from the Federal Reserve. It is a high-rise office building and the sign in front reads: The Tower of Power.

This process creates a burden in that the ALL-CAPITAL legal person named on the birth certificate has become a surety, or guarantor, a condition and obligation that is automatically and unwittingly assumed unless you rebut the presumption by effectively noticing government.

Guarantor. Person who becomes secondarily liable for another's debt or performance... One who promises to answer for the debt, default or miscarriage of another. - Black's Law Dictionary, Sixth Edition

From this it is easy to conclude that the baby is to assume the liability for any burden created or associated with the strawman or trade name listed on the birth certificate.
It is not difficult to see that a state - created birth certificate with an ALL-CAPS name is a document, evidencing debt the moment it is issued. Once a state has registered a birth document with U.S. Department of Commerce, the Department notifies the Treasury Department, which takes out a loan from the Federal Reserve. The Treasury uses the loan to purchase a bond (the Fed holds a "purchase money security interest" in the bond) from the Department of Commerce, which invests the sale proceeds in the stock or bond market.

So the child just became the slave ... can you see how this has happened? Until you take control, in other words "rebut", you will remain the slave. Slaves do not have freedoms.... and that is what we all (or almost all have been since the day we were born, and our innocent parents , and their parents, and their parents.... before us. It's time to wake up to the truth!

What Has Happened to Our Rights in This Country?

What has become of our government? Its a shame we as lawful citizens of this glorious country where our rights are protected & guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution can`t express and exercise the 1st Amendment - even at the publicly funded Jefferson Memorial.

This video is a must see by everyone who believes in their country and the constitution and must make our voices be heard against the government who are usurping their powers against the Constitution and people into a virtual police state.

RT America television host Adam Kokesh was violently slammed and arrested by police (video and info courtesy of RT News)

From RT News -
"An RT America television host Adam Kokesh was violently slammed and choked by police who arrested the host after he took part in a flash-mob at the publicly-funded Jefferson Memorial.

On May 28 Adam and other activists were arrested seconds after they started silently dancing in what they say was a celebration of the first amendment's champion.
The police officers slammed some of them; others were handcuffed and thrown to the ground in what seems to be a clear violation of their right to free-expression."
A video was captured of Adam Kokesh being body slammed and placed in a chokehold for his dancing crime.

Reopening Gaza`s Gate to the World

The Rafah border crossing with Egypt is now open and for the first time in 4 years all Gazans are free to travel

1.5 million residents of Gaza finally have a gateway to the outside world after the new interim Egyptian government lifted restrictions of the Rafah border with Gaza after 4 years. Ever since former Egyptian President Mubarak was in charge along with the insistence of Israel, Gaza was in total lock-down except for extreme medical conditions. It was in effect to drive Hamas out of power along with depriving millions of Palestinians from basic humanitarian care. (Speaking of Hamas, its such a shame upon the world powers where they insisted Hamas come into the political fold from the gun into making the group into a legitimate power. What the world powers did not bank on was the fact that the Palestinian people democratically voted Hamas into a legitimate political power. The world powers at be screamed democracy and here was a clear and just example of it; and what did the Palestinians get? They got punished for voting for Hamas).

Back to the border opening, the stringent border has led to numerous underground smuggling tunnels that brought vital supplies from Egypt into Gaza. After all, what are the Gazans supposed to do? - who`ve had a border blockade with Egypt as well as a naval blockade by Israel.

The new Egyptian foreign minster said this past Saturday (5/28/11), "the decision to close the border was shameful." His promise to open the Rafah border permanently with out the Israelis is now coming true. An agreement made 6 years old between former Egyptian President Mubarak, U.S., Israel and the EU will no longer be in effect that gave EU monitors full access to the crossing and allowed Tel Aviv to supervise/monitor security though cameras from afar. Israel watched with Egypt at the checkpoints.

Now the permanent opening of Rafah terrifies Israelis - especially weapons finding their way into hands of Gaza militants and being used against Israel.

However, this new development is a major and huge step in deflating the humanitarian crisis that will immediately and significantly improve Palestinian lives - and improving living standards will lead to a drop among those who join the militant groups. This holds true in any urban western city, where armed-gangs are prevalent mainly among socio-economic disadvantaged areas.

This is Godsend, that the current interim Egyptian government understands the will of the people and basic human rights, and not letting outside voices and puppetmasters dictate policy. Creating a new life, invigorating new spirit and hope into Gazans will affect the atmosphere from militancy/conflict into growth and prosperity.

President Obama Finally Gets One Thing Right In His Middle East Policy

He calls for Israel and the future Palestinian state to the pre-1967 borders

(President Obama delivering a speech about US policy on Middle East and North Africa at the State Dept., in Washington 5/19/11. Photo by Reuters)

President Obama on Thursday (5/19/11) made an official but rarely stated US policy that the future Palestinian state should be based on the borders that existed before the 1967 war.

"We believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states," Obama said.

This U.S. endorsement of the policy on borders is an unique statement thats been clearly stated in any Middle East speech thus given so far. He has clearly sided to a key demand of the Palestinians and has off course the angered the Israelis.

However, at the same time, President Obama reiterated his unwavering support for Israel's security, and has endorsed major negotiating positions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, including the contested handover of security responsibilities by Israel when the conditions on the ground will allow it.

President Obama declared the U.S. commitment to Israel's security as "unshakable," and said "every state has the right to self-defense, and Israel must be able to defend itself -- by itself -- against any threat."

"Provisions must also be robust enough to prevent a resurgence of terrorism; to stop the infiltration of weapons; and to provide effective border security," Obama continued, touching on the major concerns of Israel in facing a new Palestinian neighbor. "The full and phased withdrawal of Israeli military forces should be coordinated with the assumption of Palestinian security responsibility in a sovereign, non-militarized state. And the duration of this transition period must be agreed, and the effectiveness of security arrangements must be demonstrated."

"The status quo is unsustainable, and Israel too must act boldly to advance a lasting peace," Obama said, adding that "the dream of a Jewish and democratic state cannot be fulfilled with permanent occupation."

As again, these are just words and nothing set into stone. Off course there will be some deviations from the exact 1967 borders due to vast swaths of lands Israel used to build settlements and will have to be negotiated and swapped as President Obama suggested. Only time will tell what will actually occur on the ground but it is true that change is inevitable and the status quo has to change - not later shoved in the back burner but now.

Its Time For an Independent Palestinian State

Twenty years of negotiations with Israel have yielded no concrete steps to peace and freedom for both sides of the aisle. The region is still the volatile mix it has been since the 1967 war. It has come a time now where the status quo can`t remain the way it is and that 'change', is needed not in the foreseeable future but now. The current 'Arab Spring' throughout the Middle East has re-invigorated the people into understanding their basic rights and not bowing down to the 'hegemony' shoved down upon them from the global powers at be.

It is especially the younger youth of the population who are the instruments of change and people now are starting to realize that. The younger youth now are ever more smart and have so much at their disposal uncovering the truth of how the world is functioning and how their rights are being trampled and slowly siphoned away.

The world powers advocate direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians which we all say is the correct way to go but has to be fair on both sides of the table, whether it have pre conditions or not. The world powers surely advocate peace, an independent state living side by side but yet take no direct concrete steps to further the peace process. Its always just words and have been just words. And off course, our glorious U.S. government which advocates peace and a two state solution is just merely words. It was only during President Clinton`s time did a chance of real peace come but at a great price to the Palestinians. President Obama, in which we all thought a real chance for peace would occur is all a farce, he and his administration has no definite drive to push Israel or further the peace process. They have no clear path as to what the peace process should be I think, I mean after all President Obama`s Middle East envoy and middleman George Mitchell recently quit. He has achieved nothing, but was that a surprise? How does Israel come to the bargaining table with no end in building settlements, which is basically stealing legitimate Palestinian land like a all you want buffet with a time limit. They are grabbing land whatever they can as fast and soon as they can and in the end envisions these areas to be 'annexed' and negotiated in land swaps - like that will ever take place.

So what do the Palestinian Authority and PLO do now, go to the international community for unilateral recognition where the international community also recognizes that the status quo has to change on the ground. With America`s former henchmen in Egypt and Tunisia gone, it should give a good boost to the Palestinian government and people. I mean don`t get me wrong, Israel has every right to peace and security like any other sovereign country but must respect basic human rights and international will that the occupied Palestinian people deserve their own sovereign country and basic rights like any other people in the world.

The time is now, not to be shoved in the backburner where the world powers can just waste and keep buying time to delay any further steps towards an independent Palestinian state.
