Woe to the liars and put your trust unto Allah who shall direct your path to the truth

The Prophet ﷺ [peace be upon him] said:

"There will come upon the people years of deceit in which the liar will be believed, the truthful disbelieved, the treacherous will be trusted and the trustworthy held to be treacherous, and the despicable (ar-Ruwaybidah) will speak out." It was said: "Who are the despicable (ar-Ruwaybidah)?" He said: "The lowly, ignoble man who speaks out about public affairs."

As Allah says in the Noble Quran, in Sura At-Tauba (The Repentance):

وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْماً بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَاهُمْ حَتَّى يُبَيِّنَ لَهُم مَّا يَتَّقُونَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

“And Allah will never misguide a people after He has guided them, until He makes clear to them as to what they should avoid, verily Allah is the All-Knower of everything.” [Sûrah Tauba 9:115]

The Believers are tested so that it may be known Who is Sincere and Who is Lying

أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُواْ أَن يَقُولُواْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لاَ يُفْتَنُونَ

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُواْ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَـذِبِينَ

Does mankind think that by (just) saying "We believe," they will be left alone and that they will not be tested? And We indeed, did test those who were before them, so that Allah will know, those who are true and He will know those who are liars. - Sura Al-Ankabut 29:2-3
