The British Queen has received a rapturous welcome in York marking her Diamond Jubilee while a British biographer has claimed that her mother was the daughter of her aristocratic family’s French cook.

Celebrating her 60 years of reign, the British Queen distributed silver coins known as the Royal Maundy money to people from all of the UK’s 44 Christian dioceses as it is suggested that her grandmother has been the British royal family’s French cook.

Aristocratic biographer Lady Colin Campbell has claimed that the royal family’s cook, an “attractive and pleasant Frenchwoman” called Marguerite Rodiere, has been Queen Mother’s real mother.

The claims are made in Campbell’s recent book “The Queen Mother, The untold story of Elizabeth Bowes Lyon, Who became Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother” due to be on sale next month.

The excerpts of the book were revealed as the British Queen held a service of remembrance for her mother on Friday 30 March to mark the 10th anniversary of her death.

Campbell said the claim explains why the Duke and Duchess of Windsor had been given the nickname ‘Cookie’ to the Queen Mother and why the Queen Mother, born the Honourable Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes Lyon, was given a French middle name.

In her book, Campbell said the French Cook giving birth to the Queen Mother may have been “an early version of surrogacy” because her own mother Cecilia has not been able to have any more children.

For the fact is, royal and aristocratic circles had been alight for decades with the story that Elizabeth Bowes Lyon, while undoubtedly the daughter of the 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, was not the child of his wife Cecilia, nor was her younger brother David, born nearly two years after her on 2nd May, 1902,” wrote Campbell.

Campbell has been known for her revealing biographies since she raised the ire of Britain’s royal family with her biography of Princess of Wales Diana in 1992.
