[Quran 2:28]

Even stones split open for the fear of Allah, while the stone-hearted hearts of humans remain hardened

”Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stones or even harder. For indeed, there are stones from which rivers burst forth, and there are some of them that split open and water comes out, and there are some of them that fall down for fear of Allah . And Allah is not unaware of what you do.”

Ismi Azam (ismullahi al a`dham)

Abu Umamah (ra) reported that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said that the ismullahi al- a’dham (The Greatest Name of Allah), through which Allah assuredly fulfils people’s needs, is contained in three surahs in the Qur’an: al-Baqarah, Al Imran and Taha.

Abu Umamah (ra) says that when he searched for the ismullahi al- a’dham, he found it to be in Ayat al-kursi (2:255); and in Surah Al-’Imran (3:2); and in Surah Taha (20:111).
[al-Hakim, ibn Majah, at-Tabarani, at-Tahawi, and others]

2:255
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. [Sura Al-Baqarah 2:255]

3:2
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. [Sura Al-Imran 3:2]

20:111
And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice. [Sura Taha 20:111]

The Fahsha of Satan (Shaytaan) for he is your open enemy

O Children of Adam! Did I (Allah) not ordain for you that you should not worship Satan? Surely, he is a plain enemy to you. And that you should worship me (Allah); That is the right way. Indeed he (Satan) has led a great number of you astray; Did you not then understand? [Sura Yasin 36: 60-62]

Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to commit Fahsha (evil deeds, illegal sexual intercourse, sins etc.), whereas Allah promises you forgiveness from Himself and bounty. Allah is Self-Sufficient, All-Knowing. [Sura Al-Baqarah 2:268]

Satan (Shaytaan) is Your Avowed Enemy

Your Avowed Enemy
seekersofthegarden.org

Have you ever heard the phrase, “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer”? This phrase was coined by Sun-Tzu, a Chinese military general and strategist around 400 BC. The phrase emphasizes the awareness of your enemies, their tactics and characteristics in order to be a step ahead of their deceitful and plotting ways.

Consider this: your enemy is closer than you would expect. The Prophet, sallalahu alayhi wasalaam, said: “The Shaytaan flows through the son of Adam as the blood flows through his veins.”

So are you aware of his tactics? Are you aware of his devious plans and plots? “Surely, Shaytaan is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.” (Faatir:6)

So that we better know our enemy in order to divert ourselves from his evil ways, let’s examine his characteristics and traits:

KNOW YOUR ENEMY

HE IS ARROGANT
Arrogance was the first characteristic that brought Iblis to his downfall. When he was commanded to prostrate to Adam, he refused. “((Allah)) said: ‘What prevented thee from bowing down when I commanded thee?’ He said: ‘I am better than he: Thou didst create me from fire, and him from clay.’" (Al A-raf:12) Arrogance is not an attribute of the Muslim; rather, those who share similar qualities such as being conceited and condescending will be punished too. “But to those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, He will give their (due) rewards - and more, out of His bounty: But those who are disdainful and arrogant, He will punish with a grievous penalty; Nor will they find, besides Allah, any to protect or help them. (An-Nisaa:173)

HE PLOTS
He plotted long ago against mankind. "He said: "Because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on thy straight way: Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies). ((Allah)) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee - Hell will I fill with you all." (Al A’raf:16-18)

His plotting started as soon as you entered this world. It was narrated by Abu Huraira that Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger, sallalahu alayhi wasalaam, as saying: “The crying of the child (starts) when the satan begins to prick him.” [Muslim, Book 30, Number 5839]
His plotting will continue till the Day of Judgment. Allah, subhanahu wa t’ala, has given him a period of time in which he invites others in deceiving ways so that they will be his companions of the Hellfire. “He said: ‘Give me respite till the day they are raised up. ((Allah)) said: ‘Be thou among those who have respite." (Al A’raf:14-15)

HE ENCOURAGES STINGINESS
Muslims are encouraged to be charitable with the rizq in which Allah has provided them. But shaytaan whispers to mankind, persuading them to refrain from being charitable for fear of becoming poor. “The Evil one threatens you with poverty and bids you to conduct unseemly.” (Baqara:268)

HE IS DECEITFUL
His schemes are calculated - preying upon man’s deluded whims; but they are hollow and without substance. “Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but satan's promises are nothing but deception.” (An-Nisaa:120)

HIS PROMISES ARE FRUITLESS
“And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty." (Ibrahim:22)

HE HAS NO CONTROL OVER THE FAITHFUL
“Behold, he has no power over those who have attained to faith and in their Sustainer place their trust: he has power only over those who are willing to follow him, and who [thus] ascribe to him a share in God's divinity.” (An-Nahl:99-100) Allah also revealed in the Quran: "(And yet,) behold, thou shall have no power over [such of] My servants [as place their trust in Me]: for none is as worthy of trust as thy Sustainer." (Al Isra:65)

EVEN HE FEARS ALLAH
“the like of [what happens] when Satan says unto man, ‘Deny the truth!’ - but as soon as [man] has denied the truth, [Satan] says, ‘Behold, I am not responsible for thee: behold, I fear God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!’” (Hashr:16)

OVERCOME YOUR ENEMY

Seek refuge with Allah immediately when you feel him near. "Verily, they who are conscious of God bethink themselves [of Him] whenever any dark suggestion from Satan touches them - whereupon, lo! they begin to see [things] clearly" (Al A'raf:201)

Before you sleep at night, recite ayat al kursi. It was reported that the Prophet, sallalahu alayhi wasalaam, said: "When you are about to sleep recite aayat-ul-kursiyy till the end of the verse for there will remain over you a protection from Allaah and no devil will draw near to you until morning."

Know your enemy. Know his moves, know his characteristics, know his personality. By knowing his ways in which he devises your downfall, you will know the ways to overcome him.

Before you sleep at night, recite ayat al kursi. It was reported that the Prophet Muhammad, sallalahu alayhi wasalaam, said: "When you are about to sleep recite ayat-ul-kursi till the end of the verse for there will remain over you a protection from Allaah and no devil will draw near to you until morning."

It is reported by at-Tabarani that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
“The one who recites Ayat-al kursi after the conclusion of an obligatory prayer, he is under the Care of Allah until the next prayer commences.”
[at-Tabaraani's At Targheeb wat-Tarheeb (2:435)]

Abu Umaamah (RA) narrated that:
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
“Whoever reads “Ayatul-Kursi” [Qur'an 2:255], after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death (i.e. that he is still alive).”
(An-Nasaa’ee, Ibn Hibbaan – Sahih)

‘Ali (RA) said:
”I heard the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) saying while on his pulpit:
‘Whoever reads Aayatul Kursi, (Quran 2:255), after each obligatory prayer,
there is nothing which prevents him from entering Paradise except death,
and it is only a righteous and pious worshipper who would persist in reciting it regularly.”
[Al-Bayhaqi]
Albaani classified it as authentic, and other scholars classified it as a sound narration

This worldly life is like an unchaste woman...

Islamic Network
by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

This worldly life is like an unchaste woman, who is not satisfied with one husband. So! be satisfied with whatever Allah grants you from this worldy life. Walking thereon is like walking in a land that is filled with beasts, and water that teams with crocodiles. That which causes delight, turns to be the source of grief. Pain is found in the midst of pleasures, and delights are derived from its sorrows. As a bird sees the wheat, so does one’s insight perceive polytheism, while vain desires render its holder blind. Lusts were granted in abundance to humans, but those who believed in the unseen turned away from them! while those who follow their lusts were caused to regret. The first category, are those, in which Allah says, which means,

They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful. (AI-
       Baqarah, 2:5)

However, the other category, are those to whom Allah says which means,

(0 you disbelievers)! Eat and enjoy yourselves (in this worldly life) for a little while.
Verily, you are the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) (AI-
       Mursalat,77:46)

When the successful ones are aware of the reality of this worldly life being sure of the inferiority of its degree, they overcame their vain desires for the sake of the Hereafter. They have been awakened from their heedlessness to remember what their enemies took from them during their period of idleness. Whenever they perceive the distant journey they must undertake, they remember their aim, so it appears easy for them. Whenever life becomes bitter, they remember this verse, in which Allah says, which means,

“This is your Day which you were promised”. (AI Anbiya’, 21:103)

Trials and Tribulations according to Islam

Uploaded by j4mila on Apr 1, 2011
http://youtu.be/7lsJxRzATWo

This world is the place of striving and the Hereafter is the place of reward or punishment, where the believers will be rewarded with Paradise and the disbelievers will be punished with Hell.

Paradise is good and none but those who were good will enter it. Allah is Good and accepts nothing but that which is good. So the way of Allah with His slaves is to test them with calamities and tribulations, so that the believer may be known from the kaafir and so that the truthful may be distinguished from the liar, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: 'We believe,' and will not be tested. And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test)" [al-'Ankaboot 29:2-3]

Victory and success cannot be achieved except after tests which will bring the good forth from the evil and tell the believer apart from the kaafir, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which you are now, until He distinguishes the wicked from the good. Nor will Allah disclose to you the secrets of the Ghayb (Unseen)" [al 'Imraan 3:179]

Among the trials with which Allah tests His slaves in order to distinguish the believers from the disbelievers is that which He mentions in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

"And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Saabiroon (the patient).

Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: 'Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.' They are those on whom are the Salawaat (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones" [al-Baqarah 2:155-157]

So Allah tests His slaves, and He loves those who are patient, and gives them the glad tidings of Paradise.

Allah tests us, sometimes with calamities and sometimes with blessings, to show who will be thankful and who will be ungrateful, and who will obey and who will disobey, then He will reward or punish them on the Day of Resurrection:

"and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good. And to Us you will be returned" [al-Anbiya' 21:35 -- interpretation of the meaning].

Testing is according to one's faith; the most severely tested among mankind are the Prophets, then the next best and the next best. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When I fall ill, my pain is equivalent to the pain of two men among you." [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5648].

Allah tests His slaves with different kinds of trials.

Sometimes He tests them with calamities and tribulations to distinguish the believer from the disbeliever, the obedient from the disobedient, the grateful from the ungrateful.

Sometimes Allah tests His slaves with calamities; when they commit sin, He punishes them with calamities so that they might come back to him, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

"And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much" [al-Shoora 42:30]

Sometimes Allah tests His slaves with calamities in order to raise them in status and to expiate for their sins, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No misfortune or disease befalls a Muslim, no worry or grief or harm or distress -- not even a thorn that pricks him -- but Allaah will expiate for some of his sins because of that." [Agreed upon. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5641].

And Allah Knows best.

Spending in the Cause of Allah

No Compulsion in Religion; The Message is clear and for those with sincere good in their hearts

There is no compulsion in religion, for the right way is clearly distinct from the wrong way. Whoever therefore rejects the forces of evil and believes in Allah, he has taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way, for Allah is All Hearing and Knowing. (Noble Qur'an; Al-Baqarah 2:256)
But if they turn away from you, (O Prophet[saw] remember that) your only duty is a clear delivery of the Message (entrusted to you). (Noble Qur'an; An-Nahl 16:82)
''...verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of good within themselves, But when Allah wills a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back, and they will find besides Him no protector.'' (Noble Qur'an; Ar’Rad – 13:11)

Two people of opposite sex will never be alone!
by Muslim Faith on November 2, 2011

Whether you are an assistant sitting in the same room with your boss, chatting or messaging him without any wrong intention, talking on your cell phone to him, whether you are just having a walk or just sitting with him in a bus on the same seat, just having a tea with him, just spending some time with him… they cannot be alone but the 3rd person will be Satan.

Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) reminded us, if two people in the same room, they are not alone but the 3rd person is the Satan. Whether you don’t have any wrong intention or the otherwise, satan will not leave you alone.

We don’t need to feel sorry about what we have done, just repent and make the change, reflect Qur’aan in your daily life and then see how much Allaah loves you!
