Ismi Azam (ismullahi al a`dham)

Abu Umamah (ra) reported that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said that the ismullahi al- a’dham (The Greatest Name of Allah), through which Allah assuredly fulfils people’s needs, is contained in three surahs in the Qur’an: al-Baqarah, Al Imran and Taha.

Abu Umamah (ra) says that when he searched for the ismullahi al- a’dham, he found it to be in Ayat al-kursi (2:255); and in Surah Al-’Imran (3:2); and in Surah Taha (20:111).
[al-Hakim, ibn Majah, at-Tabarani, at-Tahawi, and others]

2:255
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. [Sura Al-Baqarah 2:255]

3:2
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. [Sura Al-Imran 3:2]

20:111
And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice. [Sura Taha 20:111]

This world is only the mere enjoyment of deception

...The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception. (Quran, Sura Al-Imran 3:185)

Every soul shall taste death and given their share on Qiyamah (Judgment Day)

3:185
Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion. [Sura Al-Imran 3:185]

For the true believers, fear Allah and no one else!

Those believers to them the people (hypocrites) said: "Surely, the people (pagans) have gathered against you a great army, so fear them." But it increased them in faith, and they said:
 حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
"Allah alone is sufficient for us and Allah is the excellent Guardian." So they returned (home) with favor and bounty of Allah, and no harm touched them. They followed the good pleasure of Allah. Allah is the Owner of great bounty. It is only Shaytaan that suggests fear to you of its supporters. So you do not fear them, but fear Allah, if you are true believers. [Noble Quran, Sura Al Imran 3:173-175]

Islam in the heart of man, united they come to Makkah...

The last and final Messenger from God - Prophet Muhammad  (peace be upon him), for the religion he preached found its place in the heart of man,

it`s endured...

it multiplied...

Still to Makkah they come...Mankind

The people of Islam dressed in their pilgrim white,

all equal before God...

All united in this place of prayer...

Each individual soul joined in a community of worship...

One God

-The Message (1977)

Psalms 84
4. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you
5. Blessed are those whose strength is in you; whose hearts are set on pilgrimage
6. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains
    also cover it with pools

The Noble Quran, Sura Al-Imran
96. Lo! the first house (of worship) appointed for mankind was that at Baka, a blessed place
and a guidance to the whole world.
97. In it are Manifest signs (of Allah`s guidance); the place where Abraham stood up to pray;
and whosoever enter it is safe. And pilgrimage to the house is a duty unto Allah for
mankind, for him who can find a way there. As for him who disbelieves, Lo! Allah is
      independent of (all) creatures.

Trials and Tribulations according to Islam

This world is the place of striving and the Hereafter is the place of reward or punishment, where the believers will be rewarded with Paradise and the disbelievers will be punished with Hell.

Paradise is good and none but those who were good will enter it. Allah is Good and accepts nothing but that which is good. So the way of Allah with His slaves is to test them with calamities and tribulations, so that the believer may be known from the kaafir and so that the truthful may be distinguished from the liar, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: 'We believe,' and will not be tested. And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test)" [al-'Ankaboot 29:2-3]

Victory and success cannot be achieved except after tests which will bring the good forth from the evil and tell the believer apart from the kaafir, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which you are now, until He distinguishes the wicked from the good. Nor will Allah disclose to you the secrets of the Ghayb (Unseen)" [al 'Imraan 3:179]

Among the trials with which Allah tests His slaves in order to distinguish the believers from the disbelievers is that which He mentions in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

"And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Saabiroon (the patient).

Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: 'Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.' They are those on whom are the Salawaat (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones" [al-Baqarah 2:155-157]

So Allah tests His slaves, and He loves those who are patient, and gives them the glad tidings of Paradise.

Allah tests us, sometimes with calamities and sometimes with blessings, to show who will be thankful and who will be ungrateful, and who will obey and who will disobey, then He will reward or punish them on the Day of Resurrection:

"and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good. And to Us you will be returned" [al-Anbiya' 21:35 -- interpretation of the meaning].

Testing is according to one's faith; the most severely tested among mankind are the Prophets, then the next best and the next best. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When I fall ill, my pain is equivalent to the pain of two men among you." [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5648].

Allah tests His slaves with different kinds of trials.

Sometimes He tests them with calamities and tribulations to distinguish the believer from the disbeliever, the obedient from the disobedient, the grateful from the ungrateful.

Sometimes Allah tests His slaves with calamities; when they commit sin, He punishes them with calamities so that they might come back to him, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

"And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much" [al-Shoora 42:30]

Sometimes Allah tests His slaves with calamities in order to raise them in status and to expiate for their sins, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No misfortune or disease befalls a Muslim, no worry or grief or harm or distress -- not even a thorn that pricks him -- but Allaah will expiate for some of his sins because of that." [Agreed upon. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5641].

And Allah Knows best.

Our glorious wealth...will all inevitably leave us one day

image: islamgreatreligion

Our love of wealth - consumes us...but our wealth will eventually leave us. The problem is we don`t want to leave it but it will inevitably leave us. Because of this wealth, you`ll be asked on the Day of Judgment on how we made it and spent it - all on a day that will make a child grey headed, a day of horror. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said that the poor Muslims will precede the rich in paradise by half a day - which to us is 500 years!

It says in the Qur`an, in Chapter 64: Mutual Loss and Gain (Sura At-Taghabun, verse 15)
Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise) (64:15)

Prophet Muhammad said: “Every Ummah (nation) has a test to undergo, my Ummah (nation) will be tried through wealth.” [at-Tirmidhee no: 481]

Similarly, many people ruin their faith and fidelity merely due to the greed of wealth. This love of wealth creates in man evil instincts, miserliness, selfishness and arrogance, which in turn involve him in sins, falsehood, deceit, cruelty and robbery. This causes disorder and destruction in the world and the Hereafter is lost too!

The concept of Zakaah is to decrease the love of wealth and inculcate justice, generosity, brotherhood, affection and sacrifice among the Muslims and thus Allah the Almighty says in Chapter 3: Family of Imran (Sura Al-Imran, verse 92):
لَن تَنَالُواْ الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِن شَىْءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ

By no means shall you attain Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, etc., it means here Allah's Reward, i.e. Paradise), unless you spend (in Allah's Cause) of that which you love; and whatever of good you spend, Allah knows it well. (3:92)

With true Iman (faith) can you rise above adversity

Do not lose heart, or fall into despair; you are bound to rise above adversity if you are true in faith. You may be sure that if a wound has touched you, a similar wound has touched others. [Sura Al-Imran, 3:139-140]
