Conduct regarding Lies in Islam

Bahz ibn Hakim said that his grandfather related that Prophet Muhammad  (peace be upon him) said:
"Woe to him, who lies to make people laugh! Woe to him! Woe to him!"
         (Abu Daw`ud, Tirmithi)

Ibn `Umar related that Prophet Muhammad  (peace be upon him) said:
"When someone lies, the angels (of mercy) flee from him a miles' distance because of the
foul odor he has produced." (Tirmithi)
