Stunning 3D video of Messier 78 nebula (Orion)

The nebula Messier 78 (aka M 78 or NGC 2068) is a reflection nebula in the constellation Orion. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1780 and included by Charles Messier in his catalog of comet-like objects that same year.

Below is a reconstructed 3D animation of the reflection nebula Messier 78 posted by djxatlanta`s youtube channel. It provides a closer look at the many strange and fascinating structures hidden in this object. The original 2D image used to generate this animation can be seen here: http://www.eso.org/public/images/eso1105a/
